About Alice Shapiro

Poet Laureate Emeritus Alice Shapiro grew up in New York and is author of a poetry collection "Saltian to dance" published by Unbound Content Press and an award-winning one-act tragedy in verse ("Four Voices").

She also was a recipient of The Bill C. Davis Drama Award, The Literary Titan Silver Book Award, and was twice Poetry Pushcart Prize nominee (2012). Essentially self-taught, she took a poetry class and a playwriting class at NYU with William Packard. She is based in Wilmington, Delaware.
